SugarPaws Terms Addendum

This addendum supplements the Master Terms for SugarPaws, an iOS app published by NeuralConfig LLC for logging a diabetic cat's blood glucose readings and insulin doses. The Master Terms govern unless a conflict arises, in which case this addendum controls only for SugarPaws. What SugarPaws does with your data is described in the SugarPaws Privacy Addendum.

Not a medical device

SugarPaws is a tracking and educational tool. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations, and nothing in it should be used to make medical decisions for your pet. Before you first use the app, it asks you to read and agree to an in-app disclaimer that says the same; this addendum restates that disclaimer and does not narrow it.

Your veterinarian decides

Always consult a qualified veterinarian before changing your cat's diabetes treatment, including insulin dose or timing, diet or medication, how to read a glucose value, and how to respond to a concerning one. Charts, statistics and exports from SugarPaws are for you to review with your veterinarian, not conclusions in themselves. You are responsible for your pet's care and for the treatment decisions you make.

Your entries, and estimates

SugarPaws measures nothing. Every glucose reading in it is a value you typed in from a separate meter, and every dose is one you recorded, so what the app shows is only as accurate as what was entered. Check your entries. SugarPaws does not calculate or recommend insulin doses. The insulin activity curve is an informational estimate drawn from published typical insulin curves; it does not measure or predict your cat's actual response and must not be used for dosing decisions.

Emergencies

If your cat shows signs of hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis or any other serious condition, seek veterinary care immediately. Do not rely on SugarPaws for emergency guidance. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; they may be late, silenced or not delivered, and are not a safety system.

Your data, and no warranty

SugarPaws keeps your records only on your device. NeuralConfig holds no copy and cannot recover records that are deleted or lost with the device or the app; keeping a backup is up to you. SugarPaws is provided with no warranty and no service level, and may change or be discontinued at any time. The Service is provided "as is" as described in the Master Terms.
