Privacy Policy — ICX Setup Addendum

Effective date: 2026-07-11

This addendum supplements the Master Privacy Policy for ICX Setup, a macOS application published by NeuralConfig LLC that helps network administrators provision, stack, upgrade, and adopt RUCKUS ICX switches. The Master Privacy Policy governs unless a conflict arises, in which case this addendum controls only for the ICX Setup app.

Summary: ICX Setup is a fully on-device utility. It has no accounts, no login, and no NeuralConfig backend. We do not collect, transmit, or receive any of your data. The app talks only to the switches you point it at over a direct console cable or your local network.

What ICX Setup is

ICX Setup is a self-contained macOS app for provisioning RUCKUS ICX switches: connecting over a USB serial console cable or SSH, building stacks, upgrading firmware, and adopting switches into a management platform (RUCKUS One or SmartZone). It runs entirely on your Mac and does not communicate with any NeuralConfig server.

Data we collect

None. ICX Setup does not collect, transmit, or receive personal data. It has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and no user accounts. This is reflected in the app's App Store privacy label ("Data Not Collected") and its bundled privacy manifest, which declares no tracking and no collected data types.

Because the app has no backend, the data-collection, sharing, and international-transfer sections of the Master Privacy Policy do not apply to ICX Setup.

Data you store on your Mac

Everything you enter or configure stays on your Mac under your control, including:

  • Deployment profiles (site names, target stack size and topology, target firmware version, management-platform and network settings you enter)
  • Switch credentials (passwords used to authenticate to your switches), stored in the macOS Keychain, not in plaintext
  • App settings and preferences (default credentials, transfer timeouts, server-IP overrides, and similar options)
  • Session logs (a local record of console/SSH output from your provisioning sessions), written to the app's container under Library/Logs

This data is stored locally using the macOS Keychain, UserDefaults, and standard app storage. NeuralConfig never sees it.

  • Device backups: if you back up your Mac (for example, with Time Machine or iCloud), ICX Setup's data may be included in that backup. Those backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy and your own backup settings, not by NeuralConfig.
  • Switch connections: the app connects directly to the switches you specify — over a USB serial console cable, or over SSH on your local network — and, during a firmware upgrade, runs a temporary local HTTPS server on your machine that the switch downloads the firmware image from. These connections happen on your own network and hardware; nothing is routed through NeuralConfig.
  • Firmware files: firmware images you select with the file picker are read from the location you choose and, during an upgrade, served to the switch from your Mac over the local HTTPS server described above. The app does not upload firmware anywhere else.

Data you choose to export or share

ICX Setup can produce deployment reports and write session logs that you may choose to save or share (for example, to email a colleague). When you do this, the file goes only where you send it. NeuralConfig is not involved in and does not receive these files. Once a file leaves the app, it is handled by whatever app or service you shared it with, under that service's terms.

How to delete your data

Because all data is local, you are always in control:

  • Delete deployment profiles and clear stored settings inside the app.
  • Remove saved switch passwords from the macOS Keychain (via the app or Keychain Access).
  • Delete session logs from the app's Library/Logs location.
  • Deleting the ICX Setup app from your Mac removes its on-device data (data already included in a backup follows your backup's own retention).

There is no server-side copy for us to delete, because we never had one.

Children's privacy

ICX Setup is a professional network-administration tool and is not directed to children. Because it collects no data, it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
